Role Description The Assistant Manager role at Old Navy in Huntersville, NC is a full-time, on-site position responsible for supporting daily store operations, leading a team focused on exceptional customer experiences, and visual merchandising. This role helps oversee staffing, scheduling, and task delegation, ensuring the sales floor, fitting rooms, and back-of-house areas are organized and efficient. The Assistant Manager partners with store leadership to drive sales, maintain visual standards, and ensure consistent execution of brand and promotional strategies. Day-to-day responsibilities include coaching and developing team members, monitoring performance, resolving customer concerns, and promoting a safe, inclusive environment. The role also involves tracking key performance metrics, supporting inventory processes, and collaborating with leaders to achieve store goals. Qualifications Retail operations and customer service skills, including experience in a fast-paced store environment and a focus on delivering welcoming, helpful service. Team leadership and people management skills, such as coaching, feedback delivery, conflict resolution, and the ability to motivate diverse teams. Sales, merchandising, and basic business acumen, including understanding of KPIs, visual presentation, and promotional execution. Organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing business needs. Strong communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication and the ability to collaborate with all levels of store staff. Proficiency with basic point-of-sale and retail systems; comfort learning new tools and following operational procedures. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by business needs.
