Material Handler FullTime Manual Labor Clanton, AL, US 2 days ago Requisition ID: 1133 Job Summary The materials handler position will be responsible for the flow of materials and supplies within our manufacturing facility and inventory warehouse. Job Responsibilities: Examine shipment contents and compare them with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming deliveries. Keep a well-maintained and updated account of stock and inventory Conveying purchasing requirements and keeping data on the availability of products in short supply Collaborate with internal departments to locate missing packages, fix incorrect deliveries, and replace damaged goods Ensures orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering and staging production materials and supplies where needed. Deliver or route materials to departments using hand truck, conveyor, or sorting bins. Perform material transactions within our ERP system as needed Perform monthly cycle counts to ensure accuracy of inventory Assist teams in quarterly inventory of materials within the plant Put materials into designated location within materials warehouse Knowledge: Production and Processing- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods. Administrative - Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and workplace terminology. Skills: Speaking- Talking to others to convey information effectively Coordination- Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions Critical Thinking- Using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Judgement and Decision Making- Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one. Complex Problem Solving- Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Education/Experience (Measurable): High School diploma or GED required Minimum 2 years of materials handling in a warehouse preferred Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience Experience with material transactions in an ERP system preferred Proficient in using Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
