Reporting to the Manager of Playground Clubs, the Regional Site Coordinator will serve as a Senior Site Coordinator for SMBGC Playground Clubs (PGC). This position is assigned to either the north or south set of Elementary schools, supervising (3) other PGC locations. The North Regional Site Coordinator supervises Franklin, McKinly, and Edison elementary schools, and the South Regional Site Coordinator supervises SMASH, Will Rogers, and Grant elementaries.

These positions drive youth engagement and enrollment, collaborate with school leadership, and supervise site specific coordinators at each school. The Regional Site Coordinator is a dynamic, organized, and community focused leader responsible for the safety and well-being of club members. This role requires strong administrative and organizational skills, as well as a passion for facilitating outdoor activities, and play rooted in SEL.

The qualified candidate will have strong team leadership skills, a passion for youth development, and be adaptable to meet the needs of each unique school campus space.

Essential Functions of the Position:

• Lead youth development programming for grades 1–5, ensuring activities are developmentally appropriate, engaging, and aligned with Boys & Girls Club principles.
• Train and coach staff using a “train-the-trainer” model on curriculum facilitation, integrating technology in diverse settings, and implementing trauma-informed, social-emotional learning practices.
• Monitor program implementation across respective sites.
• Oversee and lead shift scheduling, callouts, and staff timecards for sites.
• Collaborate with the Manager of Playground Club to design and implement intersession activities, day camps, field trips, and special programs; serve as lead for all field trip logistics and Saturday sports competitions, ensuring safety and parent engagement.
• Oversee and evaluate safety protocols and procedures across all sites, including safety walks, staff training, and incident response.
• In partnership with the Manager of Playground Club, oversee site specific performance management, coaching, documentation, and feedback.
• Participate in Boys & Girls Clubs of America training and workshops as a tiered trainer to strengthen organizational capacity.
• Support youth impact measurement through surveys, data tracking, and engagement with the My Club Hub database.
• Foster strong relationships with school leadership and parents by sharing resources, promoting programs, and supporting communication efforts.
• Contribute to enrollment and average daily attendance goals, assisting with youth management and maintaining staff-to-youth ratios at high attendance sites.
• Provide support for special projects and organization-wide events as needed.

Experiences You’ll Bring

• Demonstrated experience facilitating programming for elementary youth with an understanding of SEL and trauma-informed practice.
• Knowledge of local schools in Santa Monica.
• Knowledge and understanding of healthy play, activity, and age-appropriate activities for elementary youth.
• 2 years of experience supervising and managing either direct service teams, staff, volunteers, or interns. Demonstrated experiences mentoring or coaching.
• Strong organizational, communications, and planning skills to include managing deadlines, documenting practices, facilitating team meetings, and managing program logistics
• Demonstrated experiences with holding crucial conversations, de-escalation, mentoring, and supporting youth.
• Experience supporting or running after school programs, camps, sports programs for youth, outdoor experiences or excursions for youth. Must be able to manage safety protocols
• Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate your ideas clearly and for diverse audiences. Experience with digital platforms: Teams, Zoom, Excel, PowerPoint, and case management or databases are required. Daily use of case management software and email is required.
• Experience with community outreach, enrollment events, tabling, and planning field trips.

Qualifications for the Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor’s Degree and experience working in Education, Social Work, Youth Development, or youth serving nonprofits, and program design. 
• Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in youth development, out-of-school-time programming, or related nonprofit leadership roles.
• At least 2 years of staff supervision experience, including onboarding or training, coaching, and performance management. Demonstrated supervision of volunteers and/or interns will be considered.
• Understanding and experience with safety protocols when working with youth in an education or after-school setting.
• Training in SEL curriculum, and motivational interviewing. 
• Great organizational skills, attention to detail, project management, use of Microsoft 365 apps, databases, and general case management.
• Familiarity supply orders and program budgeting.

Summary

Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt

Approximate Hours: School Year:Monday-Friday 10am-6pm (some early/some late flexibility), Hours will change to daytime during summer programming. This role will support some evening, weekend, special event opportunities. This club is open on some non-school days for intersession programming.

Salary: $30/hour
