Junior Employment Litigation Attorney

Location: Newport Beach, CA

Compensation: $120,000-$220,000 (depending on years of experience)

A well-established Newport Beach law firm is seeking a California-licensed attorney with employment litigation experience to join its growing Labor & Employment practice. This is an opportunity to work directly with employers across a wide range of industries, handling sophisticated workplace matters from counseling and pre-litigation strategy through trial, arbitration, and resolution.

Unlike insurance defense practices, the firm represents clients directly as trusted advisors and outside general counsel. Attorneys enjoy meaningful client contact, lower case volumes, and the ability to take a deeper, more strategic role in each matter.

What You'll Do

• Represent employers in employment disputes from pre-litigation through resolution.
• Draft and respond to pleadings, discovery, motions, and other litigation filings.
• Assist with depositions, witness preparation, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation.
• Handle matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage and hour claims.
• Work on both single-plaintiff employment matters and representative actions, including class and PAGA claims.
• Partner directly with clients to provide practical legal guidance and litigation strategy.
• Collaborate with attorneys across employment, business, and litigation practice groups.

What We're Looking For

• Active California Bar license.
• Employment litigation experience gained through a law firm, judicial clerkship, or in-house legal department.
• Working knowledge of California and/or federal employment law.
• Experience drafting pleadings, discovery, motion papers, and other litigation documents.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
• Professional judgment, responsiveness to feedback, and a client-service mindset.
