Backend Kotlin Developer

The company uses powerful technology to offer everyday drivers better coverage for less money. Now we are looking for a Kotlin Developer to join our team. Position: Full‑time (Remote) Term: Long‑term Timezone: until 3PM Chicago Time Zone Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Design, implement, and maintain efficient, reusable, and scalable server‑side code using Kotlin, Typescript ( for backend development and requires handling a complex central codebase); Support production applications including on‑call responsibilities; Develop robust and secure RESTful APIs; Help improve, expand and maintain our acquisition, applicant and customer APIs; Design and implement database schemas with a focus on data consistency, integrity, and optimization; Optimize and maintain database performance for high‑volume applications; Work with the engineering and product team to help bring the features on our ambitious roadmap to life for our customers. Requirements: Experience as a backend developer with a focus on Kotlin; Experience with TypeScript as a backend developer; Experience with React (at least 6 months) – will be a plus; Experience with database systems (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.); Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and continuous integration tools; Experience with GitHub copilot or Gemini; Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP); Understanding of microservices architecture and its implementation.
