Travel Surgical Technologist

American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist for a Level I/II Trauma OR at a teaching hospital, requiring 3+ years of experience and expertise in DaVinci Xi robotics, eyes, and liver transplant procedures.

General OR setting within a teaching hospital with trauma and transplant capabilities including kidney, liver, pancreas, and thoracic cases.

Variable shifts of 8, 10, or 12 hours, starting and ending anytime between 6:30 AM and 11:30 PM.

Scheduled for 36-40 hours per week including weekends and holidays as needed.

Call required Monday-Friday 9:00 PM-6:30 AM and weekends 6:30 AM-7:00 PM or 6:30 PM-7:00 AM.

1:1 patient ratio.

Epic charting system preferred.

Minimum of 3 years of surgical technology experience required.

At least 2 years of Level I (preferred) or Level II (required) Trauma OR experience.

Teaching hospital experience required.

Previous travel experience preferred.

BLS certification required.

License required if applicable.

Experience with eyes, DaVinci Xi Robot, and Liver Transplant procedures required.

Experience in Neuro and Ortho procedures preferred.

Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

Community hospital and LTAC experience preferred.

Support surgical procedures across multiple specialties including general surgery, gynecology, orthopedics, neurosurgery, urology, plastics, ENT, and robotics.

Maintain aseptic technique, instrument processing, and sterilization/disinfection standards.

Perform Universal Protocol (time out) procedures and adhere to isolation precautions and PPE guidelines.

Handle specimen labeling, wound care, and suture removal as needed.

Operate specialized equipment including electrosurgical units, cell saver, drills, and fiber optic light sources.

First-time travelers may be considered given required experience level.

Local candidates accepted at the same rate.

Former employees eligible for assignment after 6 months away from the facility.

Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for travel assignments.

2 professional references required, including at least 1 from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted.

RTO must be submitted with application and built into contract, limited to 7 days or less.

Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly upon signing contract due to strict compliance timelines.
