About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 or 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a large, urban hospital License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS preferred, CPI preferred Must-Have: - 2 years of prior experience - EPIC charting experience - Ability to float to various units Description: 36 or 48-hour options are available for this contract. RNs should be prepared to float frequently to meet staffing needs. The unit consists of a general medical-surgical and telemetry floor. You may care for patients with total knee and hip replacements, orthopedic cases, and various medical conditions. The unit accommodates medical-surgical patients along with those exhibiting behavioral health conditions. Training will be provided for safety and de-escalation. RNs must be comfortable caring for behavioral health patient populations. Patient ratios are generally 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night. There may be rare instances where night ratios increase to 1:7. RNs are required to have experience managing drips on all floors. Weekend shifts will include 4 out of 8 weekends in a 4-week period. Travelers are required to work 2 of 3 major holidays. Candidates must be more than 100 miles from the facility. Pending licenses are accepted, but the license must be in hand before the start date. Scrubs are mandatory with the designated color and logo. This is a nicotine-free facility. The patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. You will encounter a wide variety of medical and surgical diagnoses. Previous behavioral health experience in an acute care setting is preferred. This role may involve the management of various medical equipment and protocols.
