Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) Hematology & Oncology

The Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) plays a critical role within a hematology and oncology care team by delivering direct patient care, managing complex cancer treatments, providing supportive care services, and supporting physicians across the continuum of cancer care. In this role, you work closely with physicians, infusion staff, and clinical support teams to evaluate patients, manage treatment-related side effects, coordinate care, and enhance the overall patient experience. You will practice with a high level of autonomy while maintaining strong collaboration with supervising physicians and the multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive patient assessments, evaluating patients with malignant and benign hematologic and oncologic conditions, monitoring treatment response, managing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy treatment-related toxicities, participating in advanced care planning, assisting physicians with inbasket management, and maintaining thorough documentation in the electronic medical record.

Essential skills include an active Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license, minimum of 2 years of experience in oncology and/or hematology, strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills, proficiency in managing chemotherapy and associated treatment-related toxicities, and collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.

Additional skills and qualifications include a Masters or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, national certification, active Oregon APRN or PA license, NCCPA certification, active DEA registration, experience in hematology and oncology settings, interest in advanced care planning, and commitment to ongoing professional development.

Work environment is based in a modern hematology and oncology clinic in Corvallis, Oregon, with a weekday outpatient clinic schedule, one 24-hour holiday call shift annually, and hospital rounding responsibilities as assigned. The role includes working in a collaborative, team-based environment using an electronic medical record system and standard oncology diagnostic and treatment technologies.

Job type is permanent, based out of Corvallis, OR, with a pay range of $131684.00 - $181796.00/yr. Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401(k), paid time off, and paid holidays are offered. This is a fully onsite position.
