Description JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY The Quality Improvement Specialist leads quality improvement activities across Jefferson County Public Health (JCPH) and leads initiatives to foster a culture of quality. This position is house within the Center for Strategy and Excellence and serves as an internal consultant to all public health work areas, working with staff at every level to understand processes, identify areas for improvement, and guide teams through meaningful changes to improve efficiency, cost, and quality. This role is also responsible for building the standards, systems, and staff capacity to foster and sustain a culture of quality through continuous improvement. SCHEDULE This full-time, standard position has the flexibility to work either Monday-Thursday, or Monday-Friday. This position is hybrid, with in-office work as needed. COMPENSATION Hiring Range: $70,000- $85,000 USD annually Compensation will be determined based on education, experience and skills. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Quality Improvement Project Leadership: Applyconsistent quality improvementQI and human centered design methodsto lead teams in quality improvement cycles that are impactful,efficientand repeatable. Implement standards and practices: Develop and operationalize organizational quality improvement guidance, frameworks, and continuous improvementpriorities. Reporting and Evaluation: Create the reporting and monitoring systemsneededtoevaluateimprovements. Synthesize and communicate results of quality improvement initiatives and offerrecommendations for continuous quality improvement. Build Staff Capacity and Culture: Champion quality improvement through department initiatives that bring visibility, excitement, and motivation toquality improvement. Provide regular training, coaching and guidance to staff and leadershipto promote the skills toeffectivelyparticipatein quality improvement activities. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with departmental leaders as a subject matter expert to support the development and implementation of strategic initiatives and improvements, as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Experience 3 years of professional experience in roles related to quality improvement, project management, change management, organizational development, or similar work. Education Bachelor’s degree in a related field (public administration, public health, business, organizational psychology, or similar). *Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable. Preferred knowledge,skillsand abilities Lean Six Sigma Certification (Black Belt) Project management experience; credentials such as PMP, CAPM, or PRINCE2 are a plus Experience applying human centered design to improve services, processes, or programs Certification in change management (Prosci, CMMP, or others) Experience conducting cost–benefit, cost-effectiveness, or return-on-investment (ROI) analyses. Qualities of Successful Candidates Excellent communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills. Exceptional ability to build rapport, trust, and psychological safetyrapidlyacross diverse staff groups. Strong coaching skills with the ability coach up; motivation to develop the capacity of others. Abilitytosucceed in a complex public sector environment. Strong senseof accountability; ability to be self-directed. High tolerance for ambiguity and change. Additional Job Information A valid Colorado driver’s license is required for positions that drive on County Business in either a county or personal vehicle within 30-days of hire or beginning to serve as an intern or volunteer.
