Job Title: RN Oncology Infusion Clinic Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Adult Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of chemotherapy infusion experience License: Current RN License Certifications: Current Basic Life Support, ACLS, Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration, ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate Must-Have: - One year of nursing experience - Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures - Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services - Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Administers oral, subcutaneous injections, chemotherapy drugs, and other medications as ordered. Consults with other medical personnel and provides expert information about chemotherapy and side effects. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Notes all changes in physician orders for assigned patients. Assists physician during conscious sedation and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients and intervenes when necessary. Delivers patient care competently and consistently. Interacts with patients and their families to share care plans and provide information about discharge and continued care. Informs patients and families about clinic procedures. Provides chemotherapy-related educational information to patients and families. Answers inquiries and provides guidance as appropriate. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff as needed. Schedules patient follow-up activities related to their treatment. Assists with coordination of care by obtaining referrals and completing phone calls with patients after visits. Performs other duties as assigned.
