Back Pain Management Nurse

Job Description Job Summary The Back Pain Management Nurse is a clinical professional responsible for supporting physicians during the clinical care of patients, to include recording intake histories and assisting with procedures. This role serves as a vital link between the patient and the physician, ensuring a safety and comfort during interventional treatments. Key Responsibilities Procedural Assistance: Prepare procedure rooms with necessary supplies and sterile instruments. Assist physicians during interventional spine procedures (e.g., epidurals, nerve blocks, or spinal cord stimulator trials) by positioning patients and handling equipment. Patient Triage & Preparation: Escort patients to exam rooms, measure vital signs, and document medical histories and current pain levels in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Clinical Support: Perform routine clinical tasks such urine specimen collection for drug screening, and other duties as directed by the provider. Patient Education: Provide pre- and post-procedure instructions, explaining treatment plans and answering patient questions regarding their care. Administrative Duties: Manage chart preparation, obtain necessary signatures for treatment decisions, and fulfilling medication refills as directed by the provider. Room Maintenance: Sterilize medical instruments and restock exam/procedure rooms to ensure they are ready for the next patient. Qualifications & Skills Licensure: An active Registered Nurse (RN) license is preferred. Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a clinical setting; experience in interventional pain management or orthopedics is highly desirable. Technical Skills: Proficiency with EMR systems and knowledge of sterile techniques and basic anatomy.
