Senior Engineering Technician
Intuitive Surgical
Senior Engineering Technician supporting manufacturing engineering operations at a medical device company. Responsibilities include equipment troubleshooting, repair, testing, calibration, and coordination with engineering teams to minimize system downtime while maintaining quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with engineers and supervisors to maintain system functionality and operational status
- Diagnose equipment issues and recommend solutions to reduce downtime
- Perform repairs including cable work, soldering, threading, optical cleaning, and alignment adjustments
- Execute engineering tests, collect data, and support design of experiment activities
- Document all work activities and maintain formal records and quality notifications
Requirements
- 8+ years troubleshooting experience or equivalent education and experience combination
- Proficiency reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings
- Hands-on skills in soldering, crimping, and electronic/mechanical assembly
- Experience with test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and function generators
- Familiarity with JIRA, Agile, and SAP or equivalent software platforms
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Associate degree in technical field, trade school, or military training; B.S. in EE/Computer Engineering preferred
