About NCOSE & Internship Program The National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) exists because people should be free to live and love without sexual abuse and exploitation. The Exploitation Prevention & Advocacy Internship program offers a unique opportunity to combat sexual abuse and exploitation while gaining new skills through hands‑on opportunities that seek to prevent exploitation before it begins. Interns also enjoy opportunities to meet nationally recognized leaders in the field of anti‑sexual exploitation and attend education briefings. The program invites interns to investigate their individual strengths and develop new skills. About This Position The NCOSE Law Center has created a legal strategy to end the sex trade within the next decade. The Law Center files groundbreaking lawsuits, provides critical policy analysis of federal and state legislation, builds networks of state‑level activists, submits amicus briefs, and trains and mentors the next generation of legal advocates. Interns will support this work. Term: September 2–December 10, 2026; possibility for extension of six months or one year. Responsibilities Assist in high‑level and nationally impactful litigation, drafting pleadings, briefs, demand letters, and appeals. Research and draft policy advocacy documents. Meet with and be mentored by the General Counsel and other NCOSE attorneys. Research and draft model legislation related to sex trafficking, exploitation, prostitution, and pornography. Research legal questions and draft memoranda for existing and potential cases. Qualifications Open to law students only. Passionate about opposing sexual exploitation and about NCOSE’s mission, vision, and values. High levels of initiative, creativity, work ethic, and good judgment. Well‑organized, self‑directed, and able to complete multiple tasks in a timely and efficient manner. Excellent research, writing, analytical, and communication skills. A collaborative and team‑oriented work ethic. Has and can bring a working laptop and charger. Benefits Small stipend based on in‑person or remote status. Candidates must be mostly available during NCOSE’s office hours of Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. EST to coordinate with the team. The team is in the office on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday and remote on Tuesday and Friday. Evenings and weekends are not eligible.
