Accounting/Finance Intern

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable researching historical financial transactions. They should have strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while following established accounting policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Research and analyze aged open accounts payable transactions.
2. Investigate outstanding transactions to determine their status and appropriate resolution.
3. Determine whether aged transactions should be cancelled, voided, or otherwise resolved based on established accounting procedures.
4. Process approved write-offs accurately and in a timely manner.
5. Review supporting documentation and research transaction history as needed.
6. Identify discrepancies or unusual transactions and escalate issues when appropriate.
7. Maintain accurate documentation of research, decisions, and completed adjustments.
8. Collaborate with accounting and other internal teams to resolve aged items.
9. Ensure transactions are handled in accordance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
2. Ability to research and reconcile historical transactions.
3. Familiarity with voids, cancellations, adjustments, and write-offs.
4. Strong Excel and data-analysis skills.
5. Ability to document findings clearly and make appropriate recommendations based on established procedures.
