Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Ultrasound Technologist \n Discipline: Allied Health Professional \n Duration: 52 weeks \n 40 hours per week \n Shift: 8 hours, rotating \n Employment Type: Local Contract \n \n Job Overview: \n AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking a qualified PRN(Part-Time) - Ultrasound Technologist - (Evening Shift: 3:00pm - 11:30pm) and (Night Shift: 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM) to deliver diagnostic sonographic procedures at Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center, Ft. Belvoir. This role supports a full spectrum of patient care — inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services. The technologist is expected to independently perform a wide range of ultrasound exams, manage equipment maintenance, ensure quality documentation, and contribute to quality improvement efforts. \n General Duties: \n Provide ultrasound imaging services under the scope of privileges and responsibilities set by the MTF. \n Perform tasks in line with federal, DHA, and Joint Commission healthcare delivery standards. \n Specific Duties: \n Operate ultrasound equipment and perform exams across multiple areas including: \n Abdominal, pelvic, OB/GYN, vascular, breast, thyroid, testicular, and more. \n Use cognitive sonography skills to identify, evaluate, and document diagnostic findings. \n Independently distinguish between normal and abnormal anatomy. \n Schedule, coordinate, and report on ultrasound exams. \n Maintain operational logs, manage daily schedules, and support clinic efficiency. \n Perform calibration and basic maintenance of ultrasound machines. \n Participate in clinical documentation, mandatory training, and quality improvement. \n Ensure patient safety and maintain a professional and respectful environment at all times. \n Qualifications: \n Degree/Education: Must provide transcript verifying Technologist education. \n Certification: \n Must have and maintain current ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography) registration. \n Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Red Cross). \n Licensure: Must hold a valid, unrestricted Ultrasound license from any U.S. jurisdiction. \n Experience: \n At least 2 years of total ultrasound experience. \n At least 1 year of recent (within past 2 years) clinical hospital-based hands-on experience. \n Board Certification: Not required beyond ARDMS. \n Additional Requirements: Competency testing upon onboarding (including OB, Doppler, extremities, etc.) \n Skills and Abilities: \n Proficient in conducting independent ultrasound exams across various specialties. \n Strong understanding of sonographic physics and anatomy. \n Skilled in managing clinical schedules and reporting. \n Effective communication with patients and care teams. \n Adaptability for varied shifts and hospital needs \n Schedule: \n PRN shifts (Evening Shift: 3:00pm - 11:30pm) and (Night Shift: 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM) \n 8 hour shifts \n Work Environment: \n Federal military medical facility (MTF). \n Must be comfortable working in a high-paced, mission-critical setting. \n Will interact with military personnel, veterans, and families. \n Immunization Requirement: \n Must meet all immunization and health screening requirements, including: \n Tuberculosis testing \n Seasonal flu vaccine \n N95 respirator fit testing \n Security Requirement: \n Must comply with HIPAA, DHA, and MTF-specific training and clearance procedures. \n No telework is permitted; onsite presence is required. \n AIMS Locum Tenens Job ID 1216.
