Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Operating Room RN is responsible for providing comprehensive perioperative nursing care in a busy, Level I trauma center. This role involves scrub and circulate responsibilities across multiple surgical specialties, supporting patient safety and surgical efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and perform preoperative assessments and preparations for surgical patients.
• Scrub and circulate during a variety of surgical procedures, including trauma, transplant, neuro, orthopedic, ENT, GU-GYN, and robotic surgeries.
• Ensure adherence to sterile protocols, safety standards, and documentation requirements within EPIC.
• Collaborate with surgical teams, including CSMs and physicians, to deliver optimal patient care.
• Manage on-call duties and float within scope to meet departmental needs, including participating in emergency response during hurricane season.
• Comply with licensing, certification, and hospital policies, including BLS and Radiation Badge requirements.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license.
• Possess at least 2 years of recent OR experience, scrub experience preferred.
• Demonstrate proficiency in circulating and scrub roles in a variety of surgical specialties.
• Maintain current BLS and Radiation Badge certifications.
• Ability to work 4x10-hour day shifts, with holiday and weekend rotation, including on-call availability.
• Willing to float within scope to other units or sister facilities as needed.
