We are seeking an Employment Litigation Attorney with a demonstrated record of independently litigating employment cases and a deep commitment to social justice. A hybrid schedule: 2 days remote & 3 days in-person 25 total PTO Days + all firm holidays Fully paid health, vision, and dental insurance for the employee, a spouse/registered domestic partner, and children Fully paid long-term disability and optional self-paid short-term disability Fully paid life insurance and optional self-paid supplemental life insurance Annual bonus contingent on meeting billable and client development hour requirements and performance Paid cell phone service (the employee provides the phone) Firm contributions to 401K, FSA, + profit sharing plan once eligible Paid professional development, including bar memberships, conferences, and CLEs Monthly team luncheons Responsibilities: Represent federal employees and private-sector employees before local and federal administrative fora, including EEOC, MSPB, OSC, and in state and federal court matters involving discrimination, retaliation, sexual harassment, employee discipline, and other employment-related claims Manage all phases of litigation, including case strategy development, client counseling, administrative investigations, discovery (written discovery and depositions), motions practice, hearings, and trial Engage in settlement negotiations, mediation, and alternative dispute resolution on behalf of clients Collaborate closely with firm attorneys on complex, high-impact matters, including multi-plaintiff and consolidated actions Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status, strategy, and risk assessment Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and paralegals, as appropriate. Contribute to case intake evaluations, legal research initiatives, and strategic planning across the firm’s federal and private-sector practice areas Requirements: A JD degree + Admitted to the Washington DC bar 6+ years of employment litigation experience Excellent case management and organizational skills Outstanding research and writing skills Superb verbal and written communication skills Bonus Experience with whistleblower disclosures and whisteblower retailiation claims Private sector experience, including contract experience (non-competes, employment contracts) Admitted to the VA bar Please note that this job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position and is not representative of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required.
