Plant Manager

Position Summary A leading manufacturer in the consumer brand packaging industry is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead all aspects of plant operations. This role is responsible for driving a culture of safety, quality, operational excellence, employee development, and customer satisfaction while ensuring the facility consistently meets production, financial, and performance objectives. The Plant Manager will provide strategic leadership across manufacturing, maintenance, quality, supply chain, and continuous improvement initiatives to support both short‑ and long‑term business goals. Key Responsibilities Lead and promote a strong culture of safety, quality, GMP compliance, and operational excellence throughout the facility. Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Champion safety initiatives through employee engagement, training programs, audits, safety meetings, and recognition programs. Drive quality performance by addressing customer and internal quality concerns, coordinating product qualifications, supporting audits, and implementing corrective actions. Recruit, develop, coach, and retain production and staff leadership teams to achieve organizational objectives. Manage plant operations to ensure performance, productivity, and cost objectives are achieved within budget expectations. Partner with customers to strengthen relationships, identify process improvements, and support supply chain optimization efforts. Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Operational Excellence methodologies. Oversee production planning activities to ensure customer demand and service requirements are consistently met. Collaborate with sales, customer service, and supply chain teams to maximize plant efficiency and customer satisfaction. Serve as the site leader for capital projects, equipment installations, tooling initiatives, and operational improvements. Ensure accurate inventory management and support monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory processes. Develop and execute strategic and tactical plans that align plant performance with broader business objectives. Foster a collaborative, team‑oriented culture through strong leadership, employee engagement, and open communication. Lead cross‑functional teams to identify and implement operational improvements that drive productivity, quality, and profitability. Support additional business initiatives and special projects as needed. Up to 25% travel may be required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, manufacturing, business, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and progressive manufacturing leadership experience will be considered. Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing operations, including supervisory and plant management responsibilities. Experience within consumer brand packaging, consumer products manufacturing, or other high‑volume manufacturing environments preferred. Proven success leading safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other Operational Excellence methodologies strongly preferred. The anticipated compensation range for this position is provided in accordance with applicable state and local pay transparency requirements. Final compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and overall fit for the role.
