Shifts: 36 or 48 hours per week, DEN rotation, including weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed

Key Responsibilities of the Cardiac OR Surgical Technologist

• Prepare instruments, equipment, and supplies for cardiac surgical procedures
• Assist the surgical team from the scrub position during operations
• Ensure proper care and handling of instruments and facilitate room turnover
• Maintain sterile technique, safe handling of sharps, and perform surgical counts
• Handle solutions and pharmacologic agents as directed by a registered nurse

Requirements of the Cardiac OR Surgical Technologist

• NBSTSA Certification or 10 years of experience as a Surgical Technician
• Two years of recent experience in a cardiac OR
• Ability to scrub and circulate
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association ONLY)
• Operating room experience in a level 1 trauma preferred
