This combination of industry and product groups enables the firm to deliver advice, strategies and capital with a universal banking approach to our targeted client high growth, entrepreneurial, middle market companies.Job DescriptionWe are looking for a candidate to fill an Associate position in our Global Fund Placement & Advisory Group, with the positing being based in New York. The candidate will work closely with senior members of the FPA Group and gain exposure by supporting deal teams in both the advisory and distribution functions of raising capital from international institutional investors on behalf of leading Private Equity clients. The Associate role is critical in taking lead on the preparation of marketing materials and ensuring that ongoing client interaction reports are run efficiently. In addition to taking on a lead role in execution, the Associate will also gain experience in developing communication with institutional LP accounts in the US. The Associate will also assist in leading due diligence and quantitative evaluation of prospective fund managers and sponsor-led direct transactions.Responsibilities:Leading day-to-day fundraising mandate execution involving direct client interactionPreparing client presentations, drafting offering memoranda, preparing internal committee memoranda and preparing other materials for senior FPA bankers as requiredOverseeing the updating and maintenance of investor background information and client-specific communication on a daily basis via the CRMDistribution coverage of a number of qualified US institutional investorsSupporting the management and execution of investor due diligence processes (RFIs)Supporting the management and coordination of client roadshowsSupporting prospective client searches and due diligence for mandate originationAssessing industry research and trendsQualifications:At least 4 years of industry experience related to investment banking or private equity, ideally in a placement firm focused on buyout and growth equity strategiesStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel skillsExcellent attention to detail and consistency in work productStrong work ethic and team playerOrganized and proactiveSeries 63, 79 FINRA licenses and Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) Exam required at time of hiring or shortly thereafterCompensation:For job postings in New York City, Oppenheimer is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. This salary range is specific to New York and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making salary decisions including but not limited to your skills, qualifications, experience, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range is $150,000.00 - $170,000.00 at the time of this posting.
