Senior Procurement Coordinator

Job Description Under indirect supervision performs a variety of duties associated with the strategic sourcing & purchasing of goods and services in accordance with established Tulane procurement policies and procedures and in compliance with Federal and State regulations. Failure to meet established performance standards in the performance of the job duties and responsibilities outlined in this job description (or as otherwise assigned); and/or failure to interact courteously and tactfully with managers, co-workers, customers and/or vendors such that productivity or departmental morale suffers will result in management’s taking the appropriate disciplinary action as outlined in the Staff Handbook. Employee attendance must meet established work schedules. Faithfulness in coming to work, being on time, planning absences in advance when possible, and calling in when unavoidably detained from reporting for work is an essential requirement of the job. Responsibilities Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Solid analytical skills and attention to detail. Math skills needed to analyze and obtain best prices. Effective verbal communication skills to negotiate with vendors and present relevant information to management. Strong interpersonal and partnering skills to develop working relationships with vendors and others across the university. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Ability to multi-task, prioritize work assignments. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work performed. Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree or High school diploma/equivalent and three years of directly related experience. Laboratory Animal Research Support Certificate or obtained within one year of hire.
