Job Title: Inventory Control Specialist Job Description

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory levels. This includes performing audits, physically counting product locations, and ensuring the integrity of inventory data.

Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled audits to verify the accuracy of inventory records, involving physically counting products in various locations within the warehouse.

• Execute cycle counts to ensure ongoing accuracy of inventory levels, helping to identify discrepancies early and maintain inventory integrity.

• Investigate and report any discrepancies found during audits or cycle counts, including identifying root causes and documenting findings.

• Analyze the reasons behind inventory discrepancies and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences.

• Prepare and comprehend reports generated from the SAP system to manage and track inventory data effectively.

• Use radio frequency (RF) handheld or truck-mounted scanning devices to verify inventory quantities and locations for real-time updates.

• Safely operate motorized industrial equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to move and organize inventory within the warehouse.

• Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for consistency and efficiency in inventory management tasks.

• Participate in regular department meetings to discuss inventory issues, process improvements, and project updates.

• Collaborate with other departments on projects aimed at improving inventory accuracy and warehouse operations.

• Maintain a neat, clean, and well-organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

• Adhere to all safety standards and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.

• Ensure timely, regular, and dependable attendance to support inventory operations and meet departmental goals.

• Be willing to work overtime as required to meet inventory demands and deadlines.

Essential Skills

• Packaging, packing, inventory control, quality assurance, material handling, forklift operation, cycle counts, data entry, inventory management, warehouse packing, shipping and receiving, warehouse management.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP systems.

• Strong math and problem-solving skills.

• Analytical, responsible, and conscientious with a good performance, accuracy, and safety record.

• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP systems.

• Ability to lift, pack, and stack up to 50 pounds regularly.

• Self-motivated and detail-oriented.

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

• Ability to pass the motorized industrial equipment test and obtain a license.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with WMS systems.

• Strong analytical skills.

Work Environment

The work environment is a non-climate-controlled production setting with a weekday shift from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.78 - $19.78/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
