The nurse will participate in the delivery of patient care, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients during their stay.Shift Information\n \n Shift Type: Nights\n Shift Length: 12 hours\n Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week\n Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, typically starting at 7 PM\n Weekend Requirements: Every third weekend; flexibility available\n Holiday Requirements: Major and minor holiday commitments may be required based on the season\n Unit Information\n \n Unit: Critical Care Unit (CCU)\n Bed Capacity: 6 beds, accommodating both CCU level patients and MedSurg Pediatric patients as needed\n Nurse/Patient Ratios: Goal of 1:2, may increase to 1:4 based on acuity and patient needs\n Common Diagnoses: CHF, Pneumonia, COPD, Sepsis, DKA\n Responsibilities\n \n Titrate drips, including common medications such as Cardizem, insulin, and norepinephrine\n Participate in procedures such as central line insertions, thoracentesis, and paracentesis (under provider guidance)\n Monitor telemetry and vital signs to ensure patient stability and respond to emergencies\n Collaborate with medical staff to develop and implement patient care plans\n Assist in maintaining a positive work culture, engaging in quality improvement initiatives\n Qualifications\n \n Required Certifications: BLS and ACLS\n Preferred Certifications: TNCC, NIHSS, PALS\n Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a travel nursing role; 3 years of CCU experience preferred\n Ability to float to MedSurg Pediatric units as needed; willingness to train for other departments is a plus\n Additional Notes\n \n Orientation: Two 12-hour shifts will be provided for unit-specific training\n Med Drawer Access: A physical key is required for medical drawers; keys are managed through the pyxis system\n Work Environment: Encourage a positive atmosphere; support colleagues while being receptive to feedback\n \n Join our team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of critically ill patients while developing your skills in a supportive environment.\n \n Wellspring Nurse Source Job ID #37739614.
