Senior Embedded Build and release Engineer
Intuitive Surgical
Senior role supporting embedded software build infrastructure for minimally invasive surgical robots. Responsibilities include infrastructure automation, build pipeline management, system monitoring, and cross-functional collaboration within a regulated medical device environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code for build systems and environments
- Monitor and resolve build pipeline issues; optimize build performance and reliability
- Setup and configure Windows/Linux machines for embedded builds and developer onboarding
- Deploy and manage build pipelines; establish system monitoring and health reporting
- Collaborate with developers, QA, and project managers to define requirements and improve infrastructure
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years embedded build infrastructure or systems engineering experience
- Hands-on experience enabling Bazel builds for new embedded hardware targets
- Proficiency in scripting: Python, Batch, Bash across multiple platforms
- Experience with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI, BitBucket, Ansible
- Knowledge of embedded toolchains, cross compilers, CMake, Make, EMake
- Observability tools experience: ElasticSearch, Kibana, Fluentbit, Logstash
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
