Job Purpose

As a member of our Chassis Division, you will be responsible for the operation, daily management, and improvement of an automotive driving simulator.

Key Accountabilities

• Ensure readiness and high-quality operation of the Driving Simulator hardware and software. 
• Support integration of vehicle dynamics CAE models in various software.
• Verify the readiness of vehicle dynamics CAE models by conducting pre-checks for model performance.
• Support testing in the Driving Simulator as the control panel operator.
• Manage scheduling system and booking.
• Manage CAE model file organization.
• Log and summarize simulation parameters for each test.
• Continually update Driving Simulator issues and improvement tracking list.
• Maintain operation and know-how manuals.
• Participate in improvement activities to continually increase efficiency and effectiveness of Driving Simulator mechanical, control, and software operation and output.
• Join in Vehicle Dynamics CAE modelling and specification optimization in support of research and development projects.
• Support in analysis to correlate Driving Simulator subjective data to objective and subjective metrics of actual vehicle track test data.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 0-2 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Familiarity with 1D CAE, 3D CAE, and programming language software such as Carsim, Carmaker, Adams, Simpack, Amesim, Matlab, Python, and Excel VBA.
• Understanding of suspension, steering, and brake system and component performance concepts.
• Ability to breakdown complex concepts into simple summaries.
• Detail oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions

• Physical testing on-site and working at desk on-site. 
• Exposure to test equipment and moving parts. 
• Ability to climb stairs and ingress/egress into Driving Simulator cockpit.
• Ability to evaluate sensory inputs (not have severe aversion to motion sickness).
• Minimal travel is required (10%). 
• Overtime is expected based on project demands and responsibilities.
