Environmental GeologistIrvine, CA | Full-Time | $65,000–$78,000/yearThe OpportunityAn employee-owned environmental and water resources consulting firm is seeking an Environmental Geologist to support site characterization, investigation, remediation, and construction projects for industrial, commercial, and municipal clients. You'll split time between fieldwork and office-based reporting, with travel predominantly across Southern California.What You'll DoField OperationsCollect soil, groundwater, soil vapor, and indoor air samplesConduct site inspections and document third-party contractor workSupport remedial system construction, operation, monitoring, and maintenanceOversee drilling, geophysical, and waste disposal subcontractorsDocument field activities through boring logs, field forms, and photo logsTechnical & ReportingCompile and interpret environmental data to identify contaminant sources and exposure pathwaysAssist senior staff with work plans, technical reports, and cost estimates for investigation, remediation, and brownfield projectsEnsure all field activities follow approved work plans and standard proceduresWhat We're Looking ForEducationBachelor's degree in geology, environmental science, or a related field; master's degree preferredAbility to pursue applicable state licensure preferredExperience & Certifications1–3 years supporting environmental investigation, remediation, or construction projectsGeologist-in-Training (GIT) certification preferred40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferredValid driver's license with a clean driving recordSkillsStrong technical and mechanical aptitudeClear written and verbal communicationAble to work independently and as part of a teamOrganized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changing field conditionsPhysical RequirementsLift up to 35 lbs; carry, load, and unload field equipmentWork outdoors on uneven terrain in variable weather, heat, noise, and chemical environmentsOperate hand and power tools; wear required PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, respirator, and hearing protectionWork 10–12 hour days when requiredAble to obtain medical clearance for hazardous waste site workTravelUp to 50% travel, primarily within Southern California with occasional travel elsewhere in the state.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary with incentive and bonus opportunitiesEmployee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) and 401(k) profit-sharingMedical, vision, and dental coverageCareer advancement and professional training opportunities
