The bureau handles appellate litigation related to criminal prosecutions, federal habeas petitions, and provides legal advice to state prosecutors. Applicants must have a minimum of three (3) years of legal experience , demonstrated skills in legal research, analysis, and writing, a talent for oral advocacy, and prior criminal appellate or clerkship experience. Candidates must reside or plan to reside in New York and be admitted to practice law in New York. U.S. citizenship is required. A two-year commitment is mandatory upon hire. The salary range for this position is $81,159 - $173,265 + $3,400 in location pay.
