Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer serving residential and shelter locations, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security‑related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service. Position Type: Part Time Pay Rate: $18.87 / Hour Job Schedule: Tue 04:00 PM – 12:00 AM; Sun 04:00 PM – 12:00 AM What You’ll Do: Provide customer service to residents, guests, staff, and/or visitors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities. Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting observations and reporting issues according to site protocols. Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including residential areas, common spaces, entrances, exits, and perimeter areas, with working conditions varying by site. Monitor access to the location by observing entry and exit activity, verifying authorized access when required, and reporting unusual behavior and/or unauthorized persons. Support a respectful environment within a residential shelter setting by communicating professionally, assisting with de‑escalation when appropriate, and helping to deter policy violations through visible presence and routine observation. Minimum Requirements: Possess a New York State Security Guard License. Be at least 21 years of age. X‑Ray screening experience is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
