Description

• Conduct assessments on individuals of all ages—pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations—utilizing standardized tests and observational methods to gauge their needs.
• Create tailored treatment strategies that address immediate needs while considering long-term communication and swallowing goals.
• Deliver individualized speech therapy focused on various aspects such as communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
• Collaborate with fellow healthcare professionals like occupational and physical therapists, nurses, and families, ensuring holistic care approaches.
• Provide educational resources to patients and their families to aid in progress beyond therapy sessions.
• Occasionally assist with inpatient evaluations and therapy interventions, ensuring seamless care throughout the patient's therapeutic journey.
• Maintain documentation that aligns with best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay on the cutting edge of speech pathology advancements.

Education

• Earned a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification has not yet been obtained.

Certifications

• Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be attained within 30 days after hire.
