Job Details

• Position: Registered Nurse - PCU (Progressive Care Unit)
• Location: Asheville
• Contract Length: 13 Weeks
• Shift: Night Shift
• Schedule: 3x12
• Experience Required: 2 Years
• Weekly Pay: $1,900 to $2,080

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients requiring intermediate and progressive care monitoring
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and continuously monitor changes in patient conditions
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and manage patients with complex medical conditions
• Operate and monitor telemetry equipment and other specialized monitoring devices
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care
• Respond promptly to emergencies and changes in patient status
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory standards
• Ensure compliance with patient safety, infection prevention, and quality care guidelines

Requirements

• Active RN License in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU, Step-Down, or Telemetry nursing experience
• Current BLS Certification required
• ACLS Certification required
• NIHSS Certification preferred
• Strong cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation skills
• Excellent critical thinking and clinical decision-making abilities
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care
