Sr Full-Stack Engineer

Employment Type: Full-Time, 6-Month Contract Time Zone: Must align with Central Time (CT) business hours Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis About the Role Kopius is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join our team supporting a leading healthcare services organization. This role focuses on building end-to-end across a .NET backend and a modern web front end on Azure, helping modernize a legacy application while incorporating new AI-driven capabilities into the product. This is a senior, hands‑on engineering role for someone deeply fluent in the Microsoft ecosystem — comfortable working across the full stack, contributing to legacy‑to‑modern rewrites, and collaborating closely with data and AI engineers to bring intelligent features to production. The ideal candidate operates independently, brings strong engineering judgment, and adds ideas proactively beyond ticket execution. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain full‑stack features across the .NET backend and modern web front end Develop and integrate REST / Web APIs and microservices on Azure Model and optimize relational data; ensure sound database design across SQL Server and Azure SQL Contribute to the legacy‑to‑modern rewrite — refactor, re‑architect, and migrate to current patterns Own CI/CD and deployment through Azure DevOps Partner with data and AI engineers on AI‑enabled features across the product Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and architectural discussions Champion engineering best practices and code quality standards across the team Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, contributing to root cause analysis and long‑term reliability improvements Basic Qualifications Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across distributed teams Self‑motivated, quick learner, and adaptable to new technologies and legacy systems Thrives in a team environment, actively contributes to collaboration, fostering a sense of community Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to issue resolution Brings ideas proactively — not just a ticket executor, but a contributor to the broader technical direction and AI initiatives of the team Strong sense of accountability and ownership over deliverables and outcomes Comfort operating in healthcare or other regulated data environments where security and compliance matter Self‑directed operator — able to hit the ground running with minimal ramp Technical Requirements Senior‑level, hands‑on experience with C#, .NET / .NET Core, and ASP.NET Core Hands‑on experience with a modern front‑end framework — React or Angular Hands‑on Microsoft Azure experience — App Service, Functions, Service Bus — with microservices architecture Strong SQL Server / Azure SQL database design and optimization skills Proficiency with Git and CI/CD pipelines on Azure DevOps Experience contributing to legacy modernization or rewrite initiatives Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience) Nice to have: Containerization experience with Docker and AKS Nice to have: Hands‑on experience with Entity Framework Core Nice to have: Experience with message‑driven architectures Nice to have: Prior exposure to AI‑enabled features or integration with AI/ML services Nice to have: Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated industries Things to keep in mind! Compensation: $11,700 – $15,000 / month (W2). Individual pay within the posted range is determined by multiple factors, including job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Contract duration: This is a W2 engagement with an initial 6‑month term and strong likelihood of extension based on performance and project needs. Location: Hybrid schedule at our client's Dallas, TX office (Tuesday through Thursday onsite) is preferred. Remote candidates within the United States will also be considered.
