Instructional Assistant – School of Economics

Location: 200 NW 14th St., Blue Springs, MO
Schedule: 2–4 days per week (8:15 a.m.–2:30 p.m.), with opportunities for additional hours based on program needs.

The School of Economics is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing hands-on financial education for elementary-aged students. Through engaging, real-world experiences, we help students understand basic economic and marketplace concepts while introducing them to exciting business and career opportunities.

The Instructional Assistant reports directly to the Program Manager and plays an important role in creating a positive, organized, and engaging experience for students, volunteers, and staff during daily field trip programs.

Responsibilities

• Train in and become proficient in all three programmatic roles.
• Prepare student materials for each day's field trip experience.
• Organize, maintain, and store instructional materials and supplies.
• Support students and volunteers throughout daily programming.
• Assist with collecting and recording program data.
• Understand and implement all safety procedures and protocols.
• Collaborate with School of Economics staff to ensure each program day runs smoothly.
• Assist with additional duties as assigned to support the success of the team.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred

• Experience working with elementary-aged students is preferred.
• Positive, collaborative attitude when working with both children and adults.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow established procedures and directions.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to anticipate needs, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Dependable, adaptable, and willing to take initiative.
• A strong work ethic and a desire to learn, grow, and contribute to a mission-driven team.
