General Description

The Maintenance Assistant assists with the day-to-day maintenance, repair, cleaning, and upkeep of The Orchards Facilities. This position performs a variety of general maintenance tasks, including painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, grounds maintenance, cleaning, and general repairs.

The Maintenance Assistant will respond to facility maintenance needs, assist with special projects, maintain a safe and clean environment, and help ensure the facility remains well-maintained and comfortable for our residents and staff. The ideal candidate is dependable, hands-on, safety-conscious, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous maintenance or general repair experience preferred
• Experience with building maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, grounds maintenance, or general repairs preferred
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks
• Ability to communicate professionally with residents, families, staff, vendors, and contractors
• Ability to safely use maintenance tools and equipment
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
