Position Details

• Position: Special Education Teacher

• Location: Tucson, AZ

• Openings: 2

• Start Date: October 5, 2026

• Contract Length: 3 Months

• Schedule: 37.5 Hours per Week

• Pay: Up to $52.00/hour (Local)

• Grade Level: Middle School

• Classroom Setting: Resource Classroom, Push-In Model

Job Responsibilities

• Manage special education caseloads for teachers on maternity leave

• Provide individualized instruction and academic support

• Collaborate with general education staff and multidisciplinary teams

• Participate in IEP implementation and student progress monitoring

• Deliver resource and push-in services to middle school students

• Support student success in an inclusive learning environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred

• Valid Arizona Special Education Teaching Certification or applicable state certification

• Minimum one year of teaching experience preferred

• Experience in special education, resource classrooms, and IEP implementation preferred

• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

• Current CPR, TB screening, and health documentation if required

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred

• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations

• Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred

• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred

• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred

• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred

• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

• Current CPR if applicable

• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
