About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its environmental education and conservation efforts. The successful candidate will be a community-oriented, organized, and confident leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization, including fundraising, staff management, and program development. This role involves serving as the public face of the organization, engaging with the community, government representatives, and partner organizations. The Executive Director will also be tasked with expanding the organization's reach, fostering learning opportunities, and inspiring the public to connect with and protect the unique estuary environment. Candidates for the Executive Director position should have a bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a related field, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in organizational management and/or leadership. Required skills include science and environmental communication, fundraising, grant-writing, excellent organizational and data management, public speaking, and a commitment to diversity, justice, equity, and inclusion. The ideal candidate will have a background in the natural sciences or a related field, experience in nonprofit management, and a proven ability to build and grow relationships with donors and partners. The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers to ensure the organization's mission is fulfilled and its educational programs are effectively delivered.
