Infrastructure Platform Engineer - Hybrid

Salary: $124,800 - 133,120 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Experience in server platform engineering, infrastructure automation, systems administration, cloud infrastructure, or a related technical role
• Experience managing Linux server platforms, such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux or SUSE Linux
• Strong knowledge of server operating system lifecycle management, including image management, configuration, patching, and compliance
• Experience creating and managing server images with Packer or similar tools
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible and/or Chef
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform
• Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or comparable tools
• Familiarity with AWS infrastructure services and cloud platform patterns
• Understanding of OS permissions, identity integration, access controls, and security hardening
• Ability to automate and write scripts in Bash, PowerShell, Python, or similar languages
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
• A continuous improvement mindset focused on automation, standardization, and operational excellence
• Desired: Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure in hybrid cloud environments
• Desired: Windows Server administration and SMB file share management experience
• Desired: Familiarity with Azure infrastructure services and landing zone concepts
• Desired: Experience with ServiceNow, CMDB processes, ITSM workflows, or automation integrations

• Engineer, manage, and support standardized server operating system platforms across cloud and on-premises environments
• Build, maintain, and publish standardized server images using tools such as Packer
• Design, implement, and maintain operating system configuration management using tools such as Ansible and Chef
• Support enterprise patch management for Linux and Windows Server platforms
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and related tools
• Support server platform services in AWS and Azure environments
• Manage and support centralized file share services, including SMB-based shares
• Automate and integrate server provisioning, lifecycle management, and CMDB updates with ServiceNow
• Create and maintain automation pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, standards, and process diagrams
• Help improve and automate end-to-end server provisioning and lifecycle operations to keep systems standardized, secure, and supportable

We are recruiting for an Infrastructure Platform Engineer on a 10+ month hybrid contract with an agricultural cooperative in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. The role is part of a small team responsible for server operating system platforms across public and private cloud environments, with a focus on full-lifecycle management. Compensation is $60–$64 per hour on a W-2 basis, depending on qualifications.
