About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Operating Room Profession: RN Specialty: OR Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 2-3 nights per week; 7 PM - 7 AM Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years in acute OR setting, with experience in ortho, spine, and joint replacement. License: Current RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Candidates without the following skills will not be considered: - 2 years of current experience in an acute OR setting - Ortho, spine, and joint replacement experience - Experience in knee and hip replacement Description: The unit has 29 beds. Staff varies based on volume, typically including 1 Charge RN, 2-3 RNs, 2 Techs, and a clinical coordinator. During the day shift, there is 1 Charge RN, 2-3 RNs, 2 Techs, and a clinical coordinator. Night shift staffing is similar with 1 Charge RN, 2-3 RNs, 2 Techs, and a clinical coordinator. Patient ratios are 3:1. The unit utilizes a variety of equipment, including x-rays, preoperative tools, anesthesiology equipment, lab services, electrocardiography, and EKG. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech. The typical procedures performed in this unit include joint replacement, ENT, ortho, spine, urology, vascular, podiatry, thoracic surgery, and plastic surgery. Ideal candidates will possess a dedicated and reliable approach to patient care. Proficiency in charting and critical thinking is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a passion for patient care and excellent bedside manner. Dress code requires scrub colors of navy blue or royal blue. Surgical type scrubs are not acceptable. Candidates must be able to scrub and circulate, knowing all service lines. Rotating weekends may be required, along with on-call duties. On-call requirements include 4 on-call periods over a 4-week duration: - 2 weeknight calls from 7 PM - 7 AM - 2 weekend 24-hour calls - 1 holiday 24-hour call (if a holiday occurs during the 4-week period) The facility is accredited and recognized for its comprehensive care services.
