Job Summary The Peer Support Specialist I provides support and recovery training to individuals receiving services. This role assists in creating a recovery environment and advocates for the needs and rights of every individual. Job Type & Details Job Type: PART‑TIME / Non‑Exempt Shift Details: 8:00 PM – 8:30 AM, Every Saturday and Sunday Work Location: Out‑Patient Community – Wilmington Salary: $18.00 hourly without DE Peer Certification $21.00 hourly with DE Peer Certification Essential Duties and Responsibilities Guest Care & Advocacy: Provides peer support to engage individuals in a recovery partnership and helps identify hopes, dreams, and desired solutions. Teaches recovery and life skills using recovery tools. Models hope, personal responsibility, and self‑advocacy, demonstrating how recovery goals can be met respectfully. Assists in developing natural supports and community living. Cultivates connectedness in the person’s life—self, others, environment, meaning, and purpose. Compliance & Risk Management: Completes required clinical documentation. Stays abreast of federal and state regulations, laws, and Recovery Innovations policies and procedures. Understands and adheres to Recovery Innovations compliance standards, Code of Conduct, and Conflict of Interest Policies. Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Coordinates with the individual’s clinical team and other supports to arrange services or resources that help achieve goals. Additional Duties: Performs other related duties as assigned. Job Requirements Education & Licenses: Successful completion of Peer Employment Training and obtaining Certification as a Peer Support Specialist. High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience: Lived experience requiring mental health and/or substance use services. Skills: Basic computer skills. Ability to teach and train recovery information and tools. Effective communication skills. Completion of state-defined de‑escalation training. Driving Requirements: If driving is required: must meet all requirements outlined in Recovery Innovations driving policy. If not qualified: a Non‑Driver Attestation form must be signed. Applicants must be at least 18 years old unless a different minimum age is required by law. Travel required based on business need. Maintains a high level of confidentiality (HIPAA compliance) and professionalism. Second‑Chance Employer: Must pass a seven‑year background check, substance abuse testing, tuberculous testing (if applicable), fingerprinting clearance, education verification, and, if driving is required, a three‑year motor vehicle report and meet insurance carrier eligibility. State Addendums Arizona Requirements: Must be 21 years or older; attend court hearings when listed as a witness. California Must obtain Certified Medi‑Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification (CMPSS) within thirty (30) days of hire. Art‑related experience required to support the Art Works program. Louisiana Must be 24 years or older. Proof of valid and unrestricted driver's license. Proof of up‑to‑date vaccination records (including childhood vaccinations). Must provide proof of personal auto insurance (minimum $100,000 bodily injury and $100,000 property damage) and clear authorized driving component. Washington Additional specified state registration for Registered Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC).
