Food Prep/Barista

Summary

Hello Darling/Flora is seeking a part time barista and prep-cook to join our growing team. This role will be divided between barista shifts and prep shifts at our West Highlands location. 

As a barista with Hello Darling you will leverage your expertise in dialing espresso, milk texturing, and latte art. You will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere for cafe guests. You thrive in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing attention to detail and have a positive, engaging, and energetic personality.

As a prep cook with Hello Darling Flora you will be responsible for the production of syrups, beverage infusions, small food items, and the distribution products to our four locations. At this time, we require that you use your own vehicle. We are a small team committed to consistency and quality of product. 

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of barista experience and one year of professional kitchen experience with food safety qualifications. You are incredibly organized, clean, and capable of working efficiently in a small space. You are able to use your own vehicle to transport items from our production space to each of our locations across Denver. You are committed to maintaining a collaborative and supportive environment for your colleagues. You have a passion for intuitive hospitality and genuine care for the work you do. 

Key Responsibilities (Barista)

Welcome every guest warmly into our space
Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, espresso, cappuccino, and specialty tea beverages according to established recipes and customer preferences. 
Promote and maintain the highest level of customer service to all guests
Provide detailed information about the coffee and tea offerings, answering questions and making recommendations as needed
Maintain a clean and organized space throughout your shift
Periodically record inventory 
Prepare teas, syrups, and assemble snacks as needed
Contribute to a collaborative and supportive work environment

Key Responsibilities (Prep) 

Prepare syrups, infusions, and assemble small food items 

Distribute products across our four locations in Denver

Periodically record inventory

Receive and organize deliveries 

Maintain organized cold and dry storage

Clean and close the kitchen at the end of each shift with attention to food safety standards

Contribute to a collaborative and supportive work environment

Desired Qualifications

1+ years experience in a professional kitchen

2+ years of experience with third wave coffee 

Hospitality-first work ethic

Weekend availability

Enjoy a fast paced work environment, maintaining calm under pressure

Able to be organized, manage time wisely and work with little to no direct supervision

Experience with high volume food & beverage service

Compensation

$16.27/hr + tips (barista shifts) and $22/hr (no tips, prep shifts)
