Essential Duties

• Deliver on the Credit Union's Promises in every situation.
• Work at various credit union branches within the designated service area, adapting to the specific needs, cultures, and dynamics of each branch while maintaining consistent service standards.
• Receive and process member transactions including, but not limited to, cash and check processes, deposits, transfers, and loan payments.
• Assist members with account maintenance and changes while ensuring conversations are welcoming, unbiased, and supportive of individual financial needs.
• Collaborate with branch staff to cross-sell products and services using needs-based conversations that support financial inclusion and member wellbeing.
• Ensure security, compliance and confidentiality procedures are followed in all transactions.
• Maintain accurate transaction records and follow through with member requests regardless of branch location.
• Demonstrate adaptability in communication styles and openness to receiving feedback from both direct and indirect leaders, recognizing the value of diverse leadership approaches.
• This position is an in-branch/office role and requires availability from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, including daily travel to branch/support locations, scheduled Saturday business hours, and occasional meetings or training outside of normal working hours.
• Successfully obtain the Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) designation through America's Credit Unions within the first year of service with M1.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Create opportunities to expand member relationships by identifying individual needs and recommending appropriate credit union solutions that support equitable access to financial products and services.
• Remind delinquent members of payments in a respectful, professional, and empathetic manner.
• Maintain sales and service performance expectations while ensuring ethical, inclusive, and member-centered practices.
• Process member cash and check transactions including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, and loan payments.
• Handle inquiries regarding member accounts, statements, and histories with accuracy, professionalism, and discretion.
• Process check orders as needed.
• Sell Visa Gift Cards, Travel Cards, cashier's checks, and money orders.
• Collect applicable service fees.
• Answer phones and respond to inquiries promptly and respectfully.
• Process mail as required.
• Assist other departments with clerical duties as needed.
• Participate in, and engage in, monthly developmental coaching, demonstrating openness to growth, feedback, and continuous learning.
• Build strong relationships with current and new members by fostering trust, inclusion, and a welcoming environment.
• Offer products and services that support members' financial wellbeing while recognizing diverse financial situations and goals.
• Actively participate in credit union initiatives, promotions, and assigned service goals.
• Assist with onboarding new members in a manner that promotes belonging and long-term engagement.
• Attend education functions and Community Difference Projects (CDP), supporting the credit union's commitment to community impact and inclusion.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move or transport up to 25 pounds.
• Able to remain stationary for 2-4 hours at a time.

Work Environment

• Must maintain a neat and orderly work area.
• Routinely clean and disinfect work areas (i.e. teller stations, desk surfaces, phones, electronic equipment).
• Protect the confidentiality of credit union staff and members by locking door or removing items from desk/workstation when away.

Education and Experience

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience operating a personal computer.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with members and staff.
• Working knowledge of credit union products and services (or ability to learn).
• Skills in Microsoft 365.
• Ability to learn credit union systems, products, services, and procedures.
