Job Title: RN - Labor and Delivery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in high risk obstetrical care License: RN License required Certifications: Intermediate AWHONN fetal monitoring certificate Must-Have: High risk obstetrical bedside training Experience circulating in c-section in the labor and delivery area Experience recovering high acuity patients Description: This position involves travel for an RN specializing in Labor and Delivery. The role requires adherence to staffing ratios, with cervical ripening at 2:1 and triage at 3:1. Stable postpartum magnesium patients are cared for at a 2:1 ratio, while unstable magnesium or laboring magnesium patients receive 1:1 care. Active labor patients are assigned 1:1 care, and early labor patients are at 2:1. This unit is a high-risk obstetrical unit with a focus on labor and delivery. All candidates must have experience in high-risk labor and delivery care and be certified in intermediate fetal monitoring. The unit typically accommodates 24 beds and sees various obstetrical procedures, including vaginal deliveries and c-sections. Documentation is managed through a specific electronic system. Nurses may be required to float to a related unit as needed. Attendance policies will be strictly followed. Professional appearance is expected, with guidelines for scrubs, nails, hair, tattoos, and piercings.
