Registered Nurse (RN) Care Management - Utilization Review

Overview Providence Alaska Medical Center is hiring a Care Manager RN to provide comprehensive, patient‑centric care management for at‑risk patients in an acute care environment. The role focuses on assessment, care coordination, resource utilization, discharge planning, documentation, regulatory compliance, and patient advocacy. Position Details Title: Care Manager RN – Full Time (1.0 FTE, Day Shift, 40 hours per week) Location: Providence Alaska Medical Center, Anchorage, AK (3250 Providence Dr) Hiring Bonus: $10,000 for eligible external hires meeting qualification and payment conditions Relocation Assistance: available for eligible hires meeting qualification and payment conditions Pay Range: $44.16 – $77.58 per hour (base pay; additional compensation may be available) Responsibilities Provide patient‑centric care management services for at‑risk patients in an acute care setting. Assess and plan patient care, coordinate multidisciplinary care, and manage resource utilization. Conduct utilization review and/or review of care planning, discharge planning, and regulatory compliance. Document interventions and advocate for patient needs. Ensure appropriate use of healthcare resources across the continuum of care. Required Qualifications Associate’s degree in Nursing or diploma upon hire. Alaska Registered Nurse license required upon hire. Minimum 2 years acute‑care experience in a medical‑surgical or inpatient setting. IRR or annual competency testing in utilization review. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or higher within 3 years of hire. National certification in the area of specialty. At least 1 year of experience in care management or utilization review in any setting, or completion of a TIPS program or Case Management Orientation Program.
