HVAC Technician

Role Overview: This position involves maintaining and operating ammonia refrigeration systems in a food processing environment. Key responsibilities include chemical testing and treatment of evaporative condenser water, monitoring system performance, optimizing operations with Logix, and supporting safety and compliance efforts. The role requires troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, maintaining plant equipment, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Qualifications & Skills High School Diploma or GED At least 3 years of industrial maintenance experience Understanding of Anhydrous Ammonia Refrigeration systems and certification (Operator Level 1) Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude Ability to interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and schematics Willingness to wear respirators and participate in Hazmat team Commitment to safety policies and procedures Ability to work weekends and in a team environment Additional Skills (Preferred) Computer literacy, SAP/PPE systems knowledge Maintenance experience in a food processing setting Knowledge of waste water, HVAC, boiler, and compressed air systems Proficiency with test and calibration equipment and troubleshooting electrical controls Key Duties Maintain and optimize ammonia refrigeration systems, oversee system safety and compliance, support plant equipment maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and document work activities.
