Description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) for a children's hospital setting requiring Level I critical care experience and Oklahoma licensure.

Details

• Pediatric respiratory care unit within a children's hospital setting
• Provides services across all appropriate pediatric age levels throughout the department's service areas
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• 36 hours per week with 26-week contracts

Requirements

• Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program
• Licensed by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (license required if applicable)
• Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care
• Current BLS from AHA required upon hire
• ACLS from AHA required within 3 months of hire
• RRT credential required within 12 months of hire
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• 2+ years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting preferred
• Level I critical care experience required
• Previous experience in a children's-only hospital preferred
• Full DOB and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Administers therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff
• Performs invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and monitoring of patients
• Documents treatment information and patient response in the computerized medical record
• Acts as a resource person to medical staff
• Provides age-appropriate care to patients
• Ensures respiratory equipment is cleaned and maintained
• Maintains necessary respiratory therapy records
• Serves as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Returning workers may extend one time for a total of 26 weeks and must have a 6-month separation before reapplying
• Facility enforces strict credentialing and compliance deadlines with no start date pushes
• 30-day written notice required if ending an assignment early
