Job Summary

Cuready Healthcare Staffing is seeking a qualified Surgical First Assist to support patient care and clinical operations within healthcare facilities. The ideal candidate will deliver safe, high-quality care while collaborating with interdisciplinary care teams and maintaining compliance with facility policies and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team with operative procedures across various surgeries including ortho and robotics.
• Prepare and ensure surgical instruments are arranged accurately for specific operations.
• Maintain aseptic technique to contribute to the safety and efficiency of patient care during surgery.
• Provide direct support to surgeons by clamping, cauterizing, and suturing during operations.
• Participate in the rotation of on-call duties for emergencies as per scheduled requirements.
• Document surgical procedures and collaborate with the surgical team for post-operative care management.

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification and DC State License required at submission.
• Minimum of 2 years of acute inpatient and outpatient OR experience.
• Completion of at least one previous travel assignment is required.
• Familiarity with Cerner charting systems preferred.
• Demonstrated competence in surgical first assist skills in diverse surgical specialties.
• Required certifications include ARC-ST, AST, ACS, SASA, and CAAHEP (CHEA).
