Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (Rapid Response)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 6-Week Rapid Response Assignment | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 3 x 12-hour shifts per week | Expected 36–40 hours/week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-risk obstetrical bedside nursing care on a 24-bed Labor & Delivery unit, adhering to AWHONN staffing ratios
• Circulate in cesarean section procedures within the Labor & Delivery area
• Recover and monitor high-acuity obstetrical patients, including those on magnesium sulfate (stable, unstable, and laboring)
• Manage patients across a range of acuity levels including cervical ripening, triage, active labor, and early labor in accordance with established patient ratios
• Assist with and support procedures including vaginal deliveries, C-sections, D&C, and post-delivery recovery care
• Float to the antepartum unit within the Women's service line as needed; no RTO or special scheduling requests will be accommodated during this assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure
• BLS certification required — must be included in submission packet
• ACLS certification required — must be included in submission packet
• Intermediate AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certificate required — must be included in submission packet
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required — must be included in submission packet
• Minimum 2 years of high-risk Labor & Delivery experience; candidates without high-risk obstetrical bedside training, C-section circulating experience, and high-acuity patient recovery experience will not be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with GE fetal monitoring equipment
• Proficiency with Meditech and/or CPN documentation systems
• Background in high-risk OB beyond minimum requirements, including complex magnesium sulfate management
