License NYS Employees in the class perform professional nursing duties in the care of students in schools. Incumbents are responsible for maintaining acceptable health standards and providing continuing and/or emergency treatment for those under their care. Responsibilities also include the performance of diversified nursing duties in accordance with professional practices, special orders from physicians, and established rules and regulations. The work is performed under the general supervision of a physician, or other administrative official, permitting the exercise of independent judgement in carrying out the details of the work. General supervision may be exercised over Licensed Practical Nurses and clerical employees. Does related work as required.
