Rehabilitation Associate I – Forrest County, Mississippi State of Mississippi $29,374.74 - $30,360.47 annually Full‑time employment in 18 – Forrest County, MS. The Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services (MDRS) is a state agency dedicated to helping Mississippians with disabilities live and work independently. MDRS serves through four major programs: Vocational Rehabilitation, Vocational Rehabilitation for the Blind, Office of Special Disability Programs, and Disability Determination Services. Services also include support through Assistive Technology, the Office of Business Development and much more. The mission of MDRS is to provide appropriate and comprehensive services in a timely and effective manner. Programs and services assist individuals with disabilities to gain employment, retain employment, and to live independently. Performs caseload support services such as creating, maintaining, and reviewing technical case management forms and files for accuracy utilizing the electronic case management system Collects consumer information during the intake process Maintains appropriate business relationships with service providers, businesses, consumers and staff Prepares, reviews and ensures accuracy of consumer reports on monitored services Provides service delivery tasks and utilizes the electronic case management system and other agency supported software programs Assists the Rehabilitation Specialist through the collection, coordination, and verification of case data Follows Vocational Rehabilitation fiscal policies, procedures, fee schedules and best business practices to initiate, track, and monitor consumer purchasing processes Prepares financial and statistical records and reports Prepares forms for referrals for evaluations Completes case documentation which includes filing consumer information and agency documents in appropriate files Transcribes correspondence to consumers under the direction of the Rehabilitation Specialist Schedules consumer appointments and authorizes necessary medical diagnostic examinations Prepares Rehabilitation Specialist itineraries for review and signature Documents communication with service providers and consumers Compiles data for reports either manually or through electronic means Collects, enters, and verifies coding and consumer data in the automated case management system Prepares correspondence to consumers and/or their families, vendors and other agencies concerning consumer status and progression Completes additional duties as assigned What You'll Need to Be Successful Basic understanding of Microsoft Office suite. Experience with case management support functions. Ability to work as a team member and meet deadlines. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to manage priorities within time constraints. Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize and coordinate work in an independent manner to achieve goals. Ability to interpret and follow complex policies and procedures. Preferred Qualifications Typically requires a High School Diploma or high school equivalency and 0‑2 years of related experience.
