Job Description

Lead, Empower and Manage the food service team for the dining room, room service, and special events for residents. Oversee the preparing dining room for meals, in serving meals to residents and guests, and in servicing dining room after meals. Crisp linen tablecloths, fine china and top-quality fresh ingredients; this is made-to-order dining at its finest.

Essential Duties:

• Directly lead employees in the dining room. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Ensure that wait staff dresses in designated uniforms that are clean and pressed.
• Maintain the daily menu board.
• Assist in establishing staffing schedule; monitor staffing schedule; and fill in when gaps in staffing exist, overtime can be avoided, and/or actual wages are trending higher than budget.
• Confirm that dining room personnel extend exceptional customer service in seating residents, presenting menus and specials, answering questions, and making suggestions regarding food and services.
• Make sure that tables are promptly and properly bussed. Ensure that tables are cleared and reset in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Dining room is open from 7am- 7pm. You will be responsible for ensuring adequate staffing for exceptional service during all service hours
• Holiday Meals and Events are a special time for residents and their families. You will be responsible for ensuring all meals are exceptionally serviced and remembered; you will work alongside the Executive Chef and Activities Director for all holidays and monthly special events.
• Weekends & Holiday shifts will be necessary for success in this role

Qualifications

• 2+ years of management experience in front of the house dining
• High school diploma or GED (General Educational Development); or two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Fingerprint Clearance required,
• First aid and CPR certified.
• Candidates with experience in food service in senior living, hospitality, residential, or club dining rooms are preferred
