Overview Founded in 1935, Roto‑Rooter is North America’s largest plumbing, drainage, and water cleanup services provider with over 100 company‑owned branches and nearly 400 franchise operations, serving 90% of the U.S. population and parts of Canada. The Baltimore branch in Elkridge, MD is seeking a Hiring Manager to drive a recruiting strategy that meets the needs of the business. The role will recruit and retain service professionals for plumbing, excavation, and water cleanup teams. Responsibilities Hire and retain employees for the branch by recruiting, hiring, training, and coaching. Manage, coach, and mentor a team of sales and service professionals to provide quality services to our customers. Recruit sales and service team using active recruiting methods. Ensure monthly manpower goals are met. Increase revenue by developing existing business and cultivating new customers in residential and commercial markets. Follow up with customers from leads provided by field service technicians. Prevent or handle customer issues. Develop additional business opportunities by selling Roto‑Rooter’s preventative maintenance and priority care programs in both markets. Conduct work‑site reviews to ensure safety measures are utilized. Monitor team performance standards weekly and meet with sales and service teams to review and determine areas where additional training is needed. Accompany service technician to customer sites to observe performance and provide coaching, including customer service, sales, and safety/OSHA requirements. Analyze sales metrics to ensure team members are maximizing each opportunity and achieving their sales goals. Manage talent acquisition data through an ATS portal. Screen resumes. Interview candidates. Source and manage active and passive candidates on Indeed, LinkedIn, and other job boards. Monitor new recruits through periodic ride‑alongs to determine whether additional training is needed to ensure performance standards are met. Requirements A valid driver’s license. Experience as a hiring manager with a track record of recruiting and developing a solid team of sales and service professionals. Self‑starter who is organized, detail‑oriented, and thrives in a bustling environment. Excellent customer service experience. Service industry experience strongly desired. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated experience sourcing and maintaining a pipeline of candidates.
